Girls on Fire is working to get young girls interested in the emergency services. And showing them how to put out fires.

The emergency services have traditionally been a male-dominated domain – Girls on Fire are trying to change that by encouraging more women to get involved.

SBS joined our Girls Fire and Emergency Services Camp in 2018.

Around 95 per cent of firefighters in Australia are males and more needs to be done to break down barriers for women and people of different ethnic backgrounds entering the force.
